Who is an Entrepreneur?

First its appropriate to define who an entrepreneur is, before taking a critical look on the characteristics of the entrepreneur

An Entrepreneur is a person who organizes and operates a business venture and assumes much of the associated risk

A person who organizes a risky activity of any kind and acts substantially in the manner of a business entrepreneur

He/she must have the "can do spirit" because everything always looks immpossible before it works. that is what Entrepreneurs are all abpout- doing what people have told them is impossible

1. Opportunity seeking: Sees and acts on new business opportunities and seizes unusual opportunities to obtain resources

2. Persistence : Taken repeated or different actions to overcome an obstacle

                       Makes personal sacrifice or expends extraordinary efforts to accomplish a job

                       Sticks with his own judgement in the face of opposition

3. Commitment to work: Accepts full responsibility for problems in completing a job for customers.

                                       Pitches in with co-workers to get the job done.

4. Demand for  quality and efficiency: Acts to do something that beats existing standards of excellence or improve on past performance

Strives to do things better, faster and cheaper

5. Risk Taking: Takes what he perceives to be moderate risks

6. Goal settings: Sets clear and specific short term objectives
           
                        Sets clear and long term goals

7. Systematic planning and monitoring: Develops and uses logical step by step plans to reach goals
