Five Things To Watch For In Microsoft's Xbox Announcement Today

At 10 AM PDT today 21 may 2013, Microsoft announced its next generation Xbox mere weeks ahead of E3, where such a reveal would normally take place. It’s an effort to get on equal footing with Sony, who premiered the PS4 months ago, and presumably there’s so much to talk about with each system, that two full-length presentations still probably won’t be enough.

Microsoft Corp gave the world a first look at its new Xbox One on Tuesday, announcing that its first gaming console in eight years will come with exclusive video and software content, including a "Halo" series produced by Steven Spielberg.

The Xbox One, which will be available later this year at a price to be announced, will also be the first platform to release the next installment in Activision Blizzard Inc's blockbuster shooter franchise, "Call of Duty".

Packed with an octa-core processor, 8GB of RAM and 500GB of storage space, the Xbox One’s new interface blends the current Xbox UI with Windows 8. So what do we love most about the new Xbox? Here’s a roundup of the best features you can look forward to when the Xbox One launches later this year.

5 AMAZING FEATURES TO GET U EXCITED

1. VOICE CONTROLS:

According to the presentation, voice controls can be used as a primary means of navigating the dashboard and launching applications. Simply say “Xbox On” and the device will power up and turn on your TV simultaneously. You can launch apps, play games and surf the Web by telling the Xbox to do so instead of scrolling through the console’s dashboard.

2. Live TV Integration and Instant Switch

The Xbox One is much more than a video game console: it’s Microsoft’s answer to the Smart TV industry. A cable or satellite box can pass its signal through the Xbox via HDMI, which means that you can use your Xbox to watch live television.

The One includes a TV guide that can be navigated by voice and a trending section that displays the most popular shows both amongst your friends and the entire Xbox community. For example, asking the Xbox “What’s on MTV?” will pull up what’s playing on the network at that moment. The Instant Switch feature lets you switch between your Xbox and your TV without having to change the input. Just say "Xbox Watch TV" and the machine will automatically switch to your television.

3. Snap Mode

We knew it was only a matter of time before we started seeing Windows 8 features appear on the Xbox, and sure enough it’s happening. At its Xbox Reveal demo Microsoft showcased how the Snap Mode feature would work on Xbox One. Essentially, you’ll be able to run multiple apps alongside each other.

For example, Microsoft’s Yusuf Mehdi launched Internet Explorer as Star Trek was streaming and used watched live sports on ESPN while researching player stats. This also works with the new Skype app that Microsoft just announced for the Xbox One, so you can accept video calls while browsing the Web or using apps.

4: In-Game Social Features

Not only is Microsoft boosting its number of dedicated online servers from 15,000 to 300,000, but it’s also tying more social features into gameplay. Players can now snap in-game photos and share them across social networks, similar to a new feature that Sony announced for its PS4 earlier this year. In addition, Xbox One comes with a dedicated game DVR that lets you record footage and edit it later. As for multiplayer gaming, the new Xbox allows you to search for a potential online teammate while watching TV or playing a different game.

5.NFL Broadcasts and Fantasy Football

Microsoft just announced a partnership with the NFL that will bring interactive football broadcasts and fantasy football to the Xbox One. Known as NFL on Xbox, the app will allow fantasy football, onscreen updates, score displays and Skype to work together in order to create an immersive football experience. And, of course, this means that the Xbox will get exclusive NFL content, but we’ll have to wait on more details.

Record Breaking!!! Youngest Sailor @ 17yrs

17-YEAR-OLD LAURA DEKKER'S SOLO SAIL AROUND THE WORLD

To raise adventurous children, as Laura's father learned when she and Guppy set sail, means that someday, you have to let them go.

A teenager who went missing from her family home in the Netherlands after authorities thwarted her attempt to become the youngest person to sail single-handed around the world has been found alive thousands of miles away on a Caribbean island.

Laura Dekker, 14, who went missing 2009, was found on the island of St Martin, in the Dutch Antilles 3yrs after, according to the Dutch news agency ANP.

“I was born on a boat in New Zealand. I lived my first five years at sea. And ever since, all I've wanted is to return to that life.” So begins Maidentrip, a remarkable new documentary about Laura Dekker, the 17-year-old sailor who, in 2012, became the youngest person to sail around the world alone. The film debuted on Sunday at South by Southwest in Austin, before a crowd of about 300 people, and will make the rounds on the festival circuit this spring.

Laura’s story sparked an international controversy in 2009, when she announced her plans to attempt a solo circumnavigation. She was 14 at the time and quickly became embroiled in a contentious, 10-month court battle with the Dutch government, which deemed the voyage unsafe for the teen and tried to remove her from her father’s custody. Laura and her father prevailed, and in August 2010, she set sail from the Netherlands in her 38-foot ketch, Guppy.

Maidentrip documents her 17 months alone at sea. There was no chase boat, support staff, or film crew. Laura shot all of the footage aboard Guppy herself, using a Sony Handy Cam she rigged to the boat. The effect is an intimate, arresting portrait of the young sailor, who for much of the film stares wide-eyed into the camera, as though she can’t quite believe she’s doing it, either. Though you never see the camera, it takes on its own personality, a kind of default crew and confidante for the solo skipper.

Director Jillian Schlesinger, 29, who’d read about Laura in The New York Times in 2009 and approached her with the idea of making a documentary about the trip, wanted the project to feel organic and unscripted. “I wanted to let her tell her own story, and give her a voice, in a way that the sensational mainstream media hadn’t,” says Schlesinger. “Doing something so extreme with so much passion is an art, and that’s how I approached it with Laura. I was really interested in finding out why, as a 14-year-old, she wanted to do this. She had no interest in being famous. She really just loves to sail.”

No surprise. Laura was born to sail. When she was five, she and her parents returned to the Netherlands, but later divorced. Laura moved in with her dad, who worked in a boatyard, so she could keep sailing. She got her first dingy when she was six, sailed throughout Holland during the summers, and made her first solo crossing, to England, when she was 13. In the film’s early, archival footage, we see a small smiling sailor dwarfed by her life jacket, sailing a tiny dingy with her dog, Spot.

But out on Guppy on the open sea, Laura grows up fast. She cuts her hair, dyes it red, learns to cook and eat ravioli without spilling it when huge swells hit, starts to swear, celebrates her 16th birthday in Darwin, Australia, with her dad, who flies in to help her repair her sails after a wind-battered crossing, and wrestles with her own identity as a sailor and a daughter. In one poignant scene in French Polynesia, she replaces her Dutch flag with the flag of New Zealand, country of her birth. “I don't have any real connection to Holland anymore," she says. "I don't want to go back. I don't really have a home. Home to me is Guppy."

Cancer, Detection & Treatment (cont.)

How is cancer diagnosed?

If you have a sign or symptom that might mean cancer, the doctor will do a physical exam and ask about your medical history. In addition, the doctor usually orders various tests and exams. These may include imaging procedures, which produce pictures of areas inside the body, endoscopy, which allows the doctor to look directly inside certain organs, and laboratory tests. In most cases, the doctor also orders a biopsy, a procedure in which a sample of tissue is removed. A pathologist examines the tissue under a microscope to check for cancer cells.

 Imaging

Images of areas inside the body help the doctor tell whether a tumor is present. These images can be made in several ways. In many cases, the doctor uses a special dye so that certain organs show up better on film. The dye may be swallowed or put into the body through a needle or a tube.

X-rays are the most common way doctors made pictures of the inside of the body. In a special kind of x-ray imaging, a CT or CAT scan uses a computer linked to an x-ray machine to make a series of detailed pictures.

In radionuclide scanning, the patient swallows or is given an injection of a mildly radioactive substance. A machine (scanner) measures radioactivity levels in certain organs and prints a picture on paper or films. By looking at the amount of radioactivity in the organs, the doctor can find abnormal areas.

Ultrasonography is another procedure for viewing the inside of the body. High-frequency sound waves that cannot be heard by humans enter the body and bounce back. Their echoes produce a picture called a sonogram. These pictures are shown on a monitor like a TV screen and can be printed on paper.

In MRI, a powerful magnet linked to a computer is used to make detailed pictures of areas in the body. These pictures are viewed on a monitor and can also be printed.

 Endoscopy

Endoscopy allows the doctor to look into the body through a thin, lighted tube called an endoscope. The exam is named for the organ involved (for example, colonoscopy to look inside the colon). During the exam, the doctor may collect tissue or cells for closer examination.

 Laboratory Tests

Although no single test can be used to diagnose cancer, laboratory tests such as blood and urine tests give the doctor important information. If cancer is present, the lab work can show the effects of the disease on the body. In some cases, special tests are used to measure the amount of certain substances in the blood, urine, and other body fluids, or tumor tissue. The levels of these substances may become abnormal when certain kinds of cancer are present.

 Biopsy

The physical exam, imaging, endoscopy, and lab tests can show that something abnormal is present, but a biopsy is the only sure way to know whether the problem is cancer. In a biopsy, the doctor removes a sample of tissue from the abnormal area or may remove the whole tumor. A pathologist examines the tissue under a microscope. If cancer is present, the pathologist can usually tell what kind of cancer it is and may be able to judge whether the cells are likely to grow slowly or quickly.

Staging

When cancer is found, the patient's doctor needs to know the stage, or extent, of the disease to plan the best treatment. The doctor may order various tests and exams to find out whether the cancer has spread and, if so, what parts of the body are affected. In some cases, lymph nodes near the tumor are removed and checked for cancer cells. If cancer cells are found in the lymph nodes, it may mean that the cancer has spread to other organs.

What are symptoms of cancer

What are symptoms of cancer?

You should see your doctor for regular checkups and not wait for problems to occur. But you should also know that the following symptoms may be associated with cancer: changes in bowel or bladder habits, a sore that does not heal, unusual bleeding or discharge, thickening or lump in the breast or any other part of the body, indigestion or difficulty swallowing, obvious change in a wart or mole, or nagging cough or hoarseness. These symptoms are not always a sign of cancer. They can also be caused by less serious conditions. Only a doctor can make a diagnosis. It is important to see a doctor if you have any of these symptoms. Don't wait to feel pain. Early cancer usually does not cause pain

Health Tips: Cancer, Detection & Treatment

The information provided below has been modified from that furnished by the National Institutes of Health and the National Cancer Institute of the United States of America.
How can cancer be detected early?

In many cases, the sooner cancer is diagnosed and treated, the better a person's chance for a full recovery. If you develop cancer, you can improve the chance that it will be detected early if you have regular medical checkups and do certain self-exams. Often a doctor can find early cancer during a physical exam or with routine tests, even if a person has no symptoms. Some important medical exams, tests, and self- exams are discussed on the next pages. The doctor may suggest other exams for people who are at increased risk for cancer.

Ask your doctor about your cancer risk, problems to watch for, and a schedule of regular checkups. The doctor's advice will be based on your age, medical history, and other risk factors. The doctor also can help you learn about self-exams.
Many local health departments have information about cancer screening or early detection programs. The Cancer Information Service also can tell you about such programs.

Exams For Both Men And Women Skin
The doctor should examine your skin during regular checkups for signs of skin cancer. You should also check regularly for new growths, sores that do not heal, changes in the size, shape, or color of any moles, or any other changes on the skin.
Warning signs like these should be reported to the doctor right away. Colon and Rectum - Beginning at age 50, you should have a yearly fecal occult blood test. This test is a check for hidden (occult) blood in the stool. A small amount of stool is placed on a plastic slide or on special paper. It may be tested in the doctor's office or sent to a lab. This test is done because cancer of the colon and rectum can cause bleeding. However, noncancerous conditions can also cause bleeding, so having blood in the stool does not necessarily mean a person has cancer. If blood is found, the doctor orders more tests to help make a diagnosis.

To check for cancer of the rectum, the doctor inserts a gloved finger into the rectum and feels for any bumps or abnormal areas. A digital rectal exam should be done during regular checkups.

Every 3 to 5 years after age 50, an individual should have sigmoidoscopy. In this exam, the doctor uses a thin, flexible tube with a light to look inside the rectum and colon for abnormal areas.

Mouth - Your doctor and dentist should examine your mouth at regular visits. Also, by looking in a mirror, you can check inside your mouth for changes in the color of the lips, gums, tongue, or inner cheeks, and for scabs, cracks, sores, white patches, swelling, or bleeding. It is often possible to see or feel changes in the mouth that might be cancer or a condition that might lead to cancer. Any symptoms in your mouth should be checked by a doctor or dentist. Oral exams are especially important for people who use alcohol or tobacco products and for anyone over age 50.

 Exams For Men Prostate -

Men over age 40 should have a yearly digital rectal exam to check the prostate gland for hard or lumpy areas. The doctor feels the prostate through the wall of the rectum.

Testicles - Testicular cancer occurs most often between ages 15 and 34. Most of these cancers are found by men themselves, often by doing a testicular self-exam. If you find a lump or notice another change, such as heaviness, swelling, unusual tenderness, or pain, you should see your doctor. Also, the doctor should examine the testicles as part of regular medical checkups.

Exams For Women

Breast - When breast cancer is found early, a woman has more treatment choices and a good chance of complete recovery. It is, therefore, important that breast cancer be detected as early as possible. The National Cancer Institute encourages women to take an active part in early detection. They should talk to their doctor about this disease, the symptoms to watch for, and an appropriate schedule of checkups. Women should ask their doctor about:

1. Mammograms (x-rays of the breast);

2. Breast exams by a doctor or nurse; and

3. Breast self-examination (BSE)

A mammogram can often show tumors or changes in the breast before they can be felt or cause symptoms. However, we know mammograms cannot find every abnormal area in the breast. This is especially true in the breasts of young women. Another important step in early detection is for women to have their breasts examined regularly by a doctor or a nurse.

Between visits to the doctor, women should examine their breasts every month. By doing BSE, women learn what looks and feels normal for their breasts, and they are more likely to find a change. Any changes should be reported to the doctor. Most breast lumps are not cancer, but only a doctor can make a diagnosis.

Cervix - Regular pelvic exams and Pap tests are important to detect early cancer of the cervix. In a pelvic exam, the doctor feels the uterus, vagina, ovaries, fallopian tubes, bladder, and rectum for any change in size or shape.

For the Pap test, a sample of cells is collected from the upper vagina and cervix with a small brush or a flat wooden stick. The sample is placed in a glass slide and checked under a microscope for cancer or other abnormal cells.

Women should start having a Pap test every year after they turn 18 or become sexually active. If the results are normal for 3 or more years in a row, a woman may have this test less often, based on her doctor's advice.

mitnids enterprise: latest On Car Tips: Repairs Every Car Owner Should Know (PART2)

mitnids enterprise: latest On Car Tips: Repairs Every Car Owner Should Know (PART2)

latest On Car Tips: Repairs Every Car Owner Should Know (PART2)

Beyond changing an engine or repairing the transmission, there are a few basic fixes all car owners should have under their driving belt. The life expectancy of an automobile relies upon responsible maintenance. Although car services extend certain repairs, there are five quick fixes and changes any vehicle owner should be able to execute:
  • Battery change
  • Adding brake fluid
  • Oil change
  • Changing a Tire
  • Windshield wipers Replacement

10-Steps for Changing a Battery
1) For environmental-correctness, exchange the old battery with a new one.
2) Under the hood, the battery is usually located on the left side.
3) On the old battery, disconnect the cable terminals. First unplug the black terminals (negative) and then the red terminals (positive).
4) Dismantle the bracket or frame that holds the battery in position.
5) Then pull and lift the battery out of its position.
6) If the cable terminals are dirty or corroded, wipe them with water, a wire brush and baking soda.
7) Employ a wire brush to graze the inside of each cable terminal. The idea is expose clean metal to the new battery terminal. (Remember to replace the cable terminals if they are damaged.
8) Affix the new battery into position. Place both the negative and positive in the qualified positions. Then secure the frame.
9) Re-connect the battery with the cables securely. If the cable ends are movable they are not secure and will prevent the vehicle from starting, properly.
10) To test your work, start the engine.
Checking Brake Fluid
Brakes and its fluid are critical aspects of the performance of any car. To check brake fluid, first locate the brake master cylinder. Generally, it can be found on the driver's side of the car near the exterior of the engine area. As a guide, think of where the brake pedal is when it is engaged. The way to identify the brake master cylinder is by metal tubes, a rectangular piece of metal covered in a plastic reservoir by a rubber cap on top. It should be small, roughly 6 by 2 inches.

1. To confirm that you have located the master cylinder, refer to the auto's manual. Typically, the rubber cap will have the following inscription: 'Use only DOT 3 or 4 brake fluid from a sealed container.'

2. On newer automobile models, the reservoir is lucid. The fluid level may be visible without removal of the cap. When the brake fluid is full, it will go up to the line.
3. Prior to 1980, the brake master cylinder reservoir was for the most part comprised of metal. On these, car models, the top must be removed to gauge the fluid level. Since the cap is fastened by a metal clamp' dislodge with a screwdriver. It should effortlessly pop off the clamp. Then the lid will lift out easily.
4. Obviously, use the appropriate brake fluid to the vehicle accordingly. (Review the manufacturer's guide to determine the grade of brake fluid the automobile requires).
Important note: The toxicity of brake fluid is very high. Avoid contact with eyes and hands. Do not spill brake fluid on the pain of the car or the ground. Caution is advised when discarding the empty container.

5.Simply, pour the brake fluid to the designated 'full line.'
Recommendation: If the brake pedal goes to the floor, it is a sign that the brake master cylinder is empty. In this scenario, adding brake fluid and bleeding the brakes is necessary; as a result, it is best to see a mechanic to flush and refill the braking system. As all cars show different signs of needing new brake shoes, inquire about the symptoms of your vehicle.

Changing Motor Oil
It's the type of service every car needs every 3000 miles. Without an oil change, an engine can blow or it will cause the car to malfunction. Depending on where you live in the country, oil changes range from $19.00 to $50.00. For the do-it-yourself types or just to save money, use the following tips to change your oil:
1. Allow your vehicle to run until the engine is warmed
2. Depending on the model of your car, the auto may need to be jacked-up to reach the sump plug or is accessible by sliding underneath.
3. On the top of the engine, there should be a cap with the word oil. Unscrew the oil filler cap on to enable the oil to drain through easier.
4. Place a pan 9 x 12 x 4 pan underneath the sump plug. Unscrew the oil sump plug and allow the warm old oil flow into the container or pan. (Stay out of the way to avoid being burnt).
5. Allow the oil to drain out entirely.
6. Then dismantle the old oil filter and affix the new filter.
7. Screw in the oil sump plug tightly. Pour the appropriate grade of oil in through the oil filler. Then screw back the oil filler cap. Avoid overfilling. Make sure sufficient amounts of oil are poured in.
8. To test the success of the oil change, start your engine. Resituate the automobile and allow it to run for 5 minutes and
then check for any leaks on the surface underneath the car.
9. Then to gauge the level of fluid, check the oil dipstick.
10. After you If everything is OK you have saved yourself time and money but, more importantly, you know the job has been done properly.

Changing a Flat Tire
Changing a tire is one task all drivers dread; but it is a much needed know-how. Use the following safety and how-to tips for making a tire change.

1. First, pull of a secure side of the road.
2. On level terrain, place the vehicle in park and engage the parking brake.
3. Turn-off the engine and turn on the hazard lights.
4. Open the hood to demonstrate repairs.
5. Contingent upon the placement of the car, place a large stone in front for downhill, behind for uphill, or diagonally to the opposite wheel. All rock placements are to prevent the vehicle from rolling. It should be done even on moderate inclines.
6. Remover the extra tire (spare), car jack and tire iron (lug nut wrench)
7. Pop out the hubcap.
8. Prior to jacking up the automobile, loosen the lug nuts that hold the tire in position.
9. Enclose the tire iron over a lug nut.
10. Remember, to loosen the lug nut, turn the lug nut wrench counterclockwise. (Use this word association rhyme remember the laws of loosening and tightening: 'lefty loosy - righty tighty)
11. Work in a zigzag pattern to loosen the lug nuts. The idea is to loosen all nuts at the length, a few turns. Then, distribute the looseness by going back and forth between lugs.
12. With care, jack up the car. Make sure that the jack is rigged under the vehicle per the safety recommendations of the manual. Continue to jack the car up until it is comfortable to remove and replace the tires.
13. Unscrew the lug nuts completely and place them in an accessible location.
14. Take away, the flat tire.
15. Pick up the new tire and hoist it onto the wheel studs. The best way to verify that you are placing the tire on correctly is if the air valve is facing outward.
16. Start tightening the lug nuts in the same fashion in which they were removed zigzag. For example, apply two turns to each lug nut, then go to the opposite until you've worked your way around all. Avoid tightening any lugs that are adjacent to each other consecutively - it may inhibit other lugs from being tightened appropriately.
17. Lower the very slowly lower. Then return it to the trunk.
18. Give the lug nuts one more tightening and then put the hubcap on.

Windshield Wiper Basics
Screeching windshield wipers is the warning sign that a replacement is necessary. One of the most annoyingly labor intensive replacements on a car are the windshield wipers. As straightforward as the process may seem, it will require a little practice for perfection. After buying the appropriate and entire replacement windshield-wiper blades, use the following steps:

1. In the package, identify the attachment that is matches the wiper blade.
2. Review the directions to understand how to configure the blade.
3. Lift the wiper arm away from the windshield.
4. Dislodge the old wiper blade. (The blade is located on the wiper arm). Remember to push on the tab and pull the wiper blade off. As an alternate, the tab can be lifted with a small screwdriver.
5. Append the attachment on the wiper arm or the new blade. Depending on the model of your vehicle, it may prove to be easy to apply the attachment onto the wiper arm or on the wiper blade. After the insertion has been properly affixed, it will click into place.
6. To ensure that the wiper is locked in, yank on the blade.
7. Return the blade back to the windshield.

Even if you decide not to play auto mechanic, don't forget to take your vehicle in for these basic repairs -- to extend the life of your car.

Know The First Aid Of Your Car

Today's vehicles are much more complex and complicated than the cars of the 1960s, '70s, '80s, incorporating more computer electronics, silicon chips, and sophisticated engines. However, the same basic car care still applies to all kinds of vehicles, and can extend the life and durability of your car or truck.
The best part is, basic car care does not require any sophisticated understanding of vehicles or their systems. A few simple steps, some regular checks, and addressing issues promptly can greatly extend the life of your vehicle, making it safer and more dependable for you and your family.

Regular checks

It may seem intimidating, but basic care car is often simply a matter of popping open the hood and taking a look at the engine of your vehicle.
Some basic car care starts with examining the exterior. Check your tires at least every other week to make sure they are inflated properly. This should be an actual check with a tire pressure gauge, but you may also advantage from a visual check to make sure the tires appear equally and properly inflated.
Other visual checks that require almost no vehicle mechanics knowledge include the following:
  • body and bumper damage, which should be monitored for insurance purposes
  • leaking fluids underneath the vehicle, including oil, power and brake fluid, transmission or other fluid (air-conditioning may cause water to drip under a vehicle)
  • smoke in vehicle exhaust, aside from normal diesel emissions or startup fumes
  • engine or fluid warning lights, which should be promptly addressed before any further driving

Under the Hood

Of course, much of the day-to-day driving maintenance for your vehicle must occur with the hood opened and up, but that doesn't mean you have to be a mechanic. The most important things to monitor and check regularly include the following:
  • engine oil level and cleanliness
  • antifreeze/coolant level (never attempt to remove radiator cap while engine is hot or warm)
  • brake and power steering fluid levels
  • transmission fluid
  • belts
When checking fluid levels, the engine usually has containers and canisters with fill-level lines. Make sure the fluids are above the minimum line, and below the maximum line. You should also keep an eye out for any leaks or worn radiator and other tubes, which should be replaced before pushed to the point of bursting.
Other things to be watchful for in and around the engine include loose electrical or tube connections, worn or exposed wires, and loose or warped belts, which should be promptly replaced. Belt replacement is somewhat difficult for some motorists, but is a relatively simple and inexpensive fix at a service station, so it may be worth the trip to your mechanic to get the right belt installed correctly.
You should also keep an eye on your vehicle's battery, and be aware of its age. Batteries should be replaced every five years or so, and if your battery is not getting the proper charge to easily start your car, you should have it checked. You can usually have your battery's charge and water level checked for free at a battery replacement station. Most vehicle batteries come with comprehensive warranties, as well.

Changing the Oil

One of the most important things you can do to maintain your vehicle is to change the oil and oil filter regularly. Some mechanics recommend changing the oil every 2,000-3,000 miles, but you can safely drive further. However, you should be sure to change the oil of your vehicle, or have it changed, at least every 5,000, including a new filter.
Your oil should be relatively clean, but still have a dark color to it once it runs through your engine. You should regularly check your oil level, and maintain it between the minimum and maximum fill lines. This is why it is a good idea to have some motor oil with the vehicle so you will be able to add some if needed.
There are a variety of types of motor oil to choose from. Lighter weight oil, such as 5W-30, is typically better for colder temperatures, while heavier oil, such as 10W-40, is more suited to warmer temperatures and climates. If your vehicle smokes or uses a lot of oil, a heavier weight and synthetic blend motor oil is probably best.

Other Replacements and Maintenance

Other important components and parts of your vehicle and engine that need regular maintenance and infrequent replacement include the following:
  • air filter
  • headlight, turn signals, and brake lamps
  • spark plugs and cables
  • engine timing belt
  • windshield wipers
Most engine tuneups are either actual motor work, or electrical tuneups consisting of spark plug, cable, and distributor cap replacement.
The biggest thing to remember with ongoing vehicle maintenance is to address issues promptly, including engine knocking or other noises, and do your best to try to understand what may be going on before you visit the mechanic.

part2: cashing in on commodity exchange- sesame seeds

Description: Sesame seeds (or sesamum or benniseed) are the seeds of the tropical annual Sesamum indicum. The species has a long history of cultivation, mostly for its yield of oil. The original area of domestication of sesame is obscure but it seems likely to have first been brought into cultivation in Asia or India. The plant is usually 60 to 120cm tall and the fruit is a dehiscent capsule held close to the stem. When ripe, the capsule shatters to release a number of small seeds. The seeds are protected by a fibrous ‘hull’ or skin, which may be whitish to brown or black depending on the variety. 1000 seeds weigh some 4-8g. The seeds have a high oil content of 44-60%.

Harvest: Harvesting begins in late December and continues through July. Each producing area stated in the next section below (Locations) has only one season. Locations: The major producing areas in order of priority are Nasarawa, Jigawa and Benue States. Other important areas of production are found in Yobe, Kano, Katsina, Kogi, Gombe and Plateau States. 2. Brown/mixed = primarily oil-grade. The White (Food Grade) seed is grown around the towns of Keffi, Lafia/Makurdi, Doma, and in Nassarawa, Taraba, and Benue States. It is easier to sort and the Fumani/Denin people consume sesame locally. The Brown/mixed grows in the North, in Kano State and in Jigawa State near Hadejia, and somewhat in the southern part of Katsina State. a must read if interestd in commodity trading- cashew nut...cool cash

We are in another season of cashew nuts business. It is time for local farmers, local agents/distributors, suppliers and exporters to make money. A business man or a trader culd only fit into 2 of d mentioned categories. Its either u are a supplier (supplying to cashew nuts export companies in Nigeria), basically Lagos who in turn export it abroad, most of these companies are owned by indians, india is one of d largest importers and exporters of cashew nuts!!! It would be interesting to know that india produce cashew nuts but they are one of d largest importes and exporters of cashew nuts in d world. This is possible because india have a free trade agreement with most asian countries thus it is better for those countries to import from india rather than import from africa or any other country because of d import duty tariff.
Going into cashew business is not an easy task for a new beginner cos a lot of things have to be put into consideration eg,
 1. Do u want to be a supplier (supplying to export companies in lagos)
2. Do u want to export yourself (selling to overseas buyers)
3. Capital requirement (how much are u willing to invest Considering the above two options, an exporter requires more capital)

What u need to know about cashew business / terms.
 1. Cashew nuts are sold per ton.
2. 13 bags make a ton. 30 tons make a truck / long trailer.
 3. Grading or scaling : u need to know how it is measured, weighed and packaged in bags, if not u will be cheated by local agents or distributors, they will cheat u in your presence.
 4. Quality or KOR : cashew nuts in nigeria are priced and negotiated based on d quality. D quality of Nigeria cashew nuts is between 42 - 54 KOR. There is a way this test is carried out by exporters, d test is physical and u could monitor it yourself but u need to have an idea/knowledge about it or else u will be cheated by these indian exporters.
5. Price ; cashew nuts price fluctuate almost every week, so u need to know d current price at every point in time.
6. Packaging: cashew nuts could be packaged in two bags only namely jute or polythene, this also determines d final price u buy from local sellers and d price Ʊ sell to exporters. Cashew nuts in jute bags are more expensive than polythene bags. Most exporters prefer it in jute bags.
7. Haulage or trucking : u need to know d price u will transport ur cashew nuts from one destination to the other, this also affects d price in a way.
8. Exporters of cashew nuts in Nigeria: they are mainly in lagos and mostly indian companies.
 9. Where to get cashew nuts in Nigeria: u need to know d source of your business.
 10. If u are exporting, u need to know d export duty, fob price, cnf price and freight price.
Advise : first timers, u have to be very careful abt this business, some people are using this business to defraud unsuspecting traders. Most people organize seminars and will only tell u how to make money in cashew business but they will never tell u how risky, vulnerable it is. Most of these seminar organize have never been to any of d villages that produce cashew nuts, they've never been to d farms, meet with d local farmers, local distributors, do not know that the quality determines d price, etc.
Pls note that cashew is profitable if u have everything under your control I.e good quality, right people working for u, capital (very important cos u could buy in large qty and store for a higher price later, u will also have an edge over your competitors), entering d biz at d right time, at an early period, especially when t february, price will. Below, but it will go high by  march. I could go on and on talking about this business. Research is very necessary, do your own little research before u venture into this biz (u either succeed or fail) it depends on how best u manage every situation u encounter during d course of d biz. I wish u all good luck.
This is just the theory aspect, the main work is physical, u have to be present wherever u are buying from, don't just sit down in lagos or wherever and expect your consignment to get to u without stories, even those who have been in d game for long still monitor it physically sometimes), let your level of trust be minimal. I know a lot of people that have lost money in this business, I was a victim also when I started!! But as they say experience is d best teacher, I have gained a lot of experience ever since. I think I have to stop here. I wish u guys best of luck.
