It's a sight that seemed impossible to imagine this time last year… Simon Cowell strolling down the beach hand-in-hand on a romantic Christmas break with his pregnant girlfriend.
But after a tumultuous year for the X Factor USA judge, Cowell is anticipating fatherhood in February and couldn't look happier about it.
Simon and his baby-mama Lauren Silverman looked blissful as they walked along the sand in Barbados on his annual festive break. The reality personality even practiced fatherhood as he held onto a friend's baby.

Simon looked comfortable as he held tight to the little blonde child, smiling as he bonded with the baby.
Dressed in a strapless black bathing suit with a black sarong, Lauren - who seemed thrilled her boyfriend was so into the tot - showed pregnancy isn’t affecting her style.
She added simple earrings and a chain. The tattoo on her left ankle was clearly visible. Simon was dressed in board shorts, showing off his tanned chest.

The besotted couple held hands and linked arms on their stroll as they enjoyed a relaxing Christmas vacation.
And it's all change for Simon, who recently revealed he will be giving up his cigarettes and not smoke in front of his son, after he was criticised for puffing away near his pregnant girlfriend.
'I won't do that,' Simon told LBC 97.3. 'I've learnt that. I'm trying to do electronic cigarettes, they're not bad. But moderation would be better.'

Cowell's comments - made in an interview on Boxing Day - come after he previously boasted about having a smoking room in his house for when the baby arrives.
'There are a lot of boring things that happen when you have a baby,' Simon told reporters.
'You have to get rid of sharp edges, cigarettes, alcohol … then there's [baby-proofing] the toilet. But I'll have a smoking room!'
The music and TV mogul also claimed that these 'not so bad' electronic cigarettes didn't work for him, even pulling out a pack of cigarettes to prove the point after he had finished filming an episode of the US version of The X Factor

It's been quite a few months since the news first broke that 54-year-old Simon was expecting a baby, his first, with Lauren, who happened to be married at the time.
Simon revealed she even helps him with his work.
'She is really interested [in The X Factor],' he confessed.
'We work on some ideas together and it is good.'
He's been seen sharing kisses and exchanging opinions with Silverman in the audience during tapings of the show.
