Ado-Ekiti - An Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates' Court on Tuesday remanded one Adebayo Ajayi in prison custody for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl.
The prosecutor, Emmanuel David, told the court that the accused committed the offence on October 4 at Okesa area of Ado-Ekiti.
He alleged that the accused on the said date unlawfully had carnal knowledge of the minor which led to her being hospitalised.
According to him, the offence contravenes section 31(2) of the Chlid's Rights Law, Cap C 7, laws of Ekiti State, 2012.
The plea of the accused, who was not represented by any counsel, was not taken.
Chief magistrate Simeon Ojo consequently remanded the accused in prison custody.
He adjourned the case to January 15.
