Abuja - The new national identity card being proposed by the federal government can be used as an automated teller machine (ATM) card anywhere there is a MasterCard logo in the world.
Aside from being used as an ATM, the card can also serve as a travel card, reports Vanguard.
Emmanuel Ogungbe, National Identity Management Commission’s director of Technical Services, said the new ID card will work as a multipurpose card.
He noted that the introduction of the new card will have a significant and positive impact on the lives of Nigerians who have not previously had access to financial services.
