Emeka Ike is broke to pay house rent

Emeka Ike was thrown out of his rented
apartment recently for his inability to pay his
house rent of about 8.5million naira. The
house is located at No 1, Raji Oladimeji
Street, Magodo GRA, Lagos state. Before the
ejection, Emeka used this building to run his
school, St Nicholas College, which he
founded in 2007.He agreed with the Landlord,
Chief Samuel Agboola Akintan that he would
run the school in the building for a period of
5years at the sum of 13million naira of which
he would pay 2million annually for two years
and three million annually for three years.
Now Emeka Ike deposited 2million then and
did not pay for the following year. He then
paid 4.5million three years later. So when the
landlord started getting agitated, Emeka then
gave him a bounce check of 1.5million naira.
In an attempt for the landlord to get his
money from him took the case to the court.
According to the landlord, Emeka refused two
appear in court and so the case was judged
against him. He said Emeka was given a
court order to leave the premises December
30th last year, but he has refused to leave
and that’s why his property was thrown out
January 24th.
On hearing that his property has been thrown
out, the actor went straight to the Police
station to report that thugs have invaded his
premises. So the Police went to arrest the
two guards the Land lord placed to watch
over the building.
The landlord went further to say that, he
tendered documents to the Police before the
guards were relaesed, and that the DPO was
shocked to realize that Emeka had lied to
them.
He said he was 87years old and has being
struggling with diabetes for the past 37years.
He claimed he never knew Emeka before
now, that it was his children who came
saying that they knew Emeka on television
and he was a good man, and so went ahead
to sign the 5year contract with him.
He also said that the teachers in Emeka’s
school said he has not paid their salary for
close to 9months, and he wonders what kind
of human being Emeka was.
Now when Emeka Ike was questioned about
the happening, he said the landlord was
merely looking for an opportunity to become
popular, and says he wants to handle the
issue legally. Emeka said he was just
experiencing some challenges in running the
school and that’s all, and that it is only the
Government or himself that can close his
school, no one else.
He also claimed to be running a business in
Abuja that is presently making success, and
so he does not want any distractions at all.
As for me, I think the guy had difficulty
managing the school, if not he would have
paid his teachers.
I just feel bad that they both do not have
patience for each other and let the whole
issue go this way. If you ask me, I tell you
that even the business he says he’s doing in
Abuja, am not even sure of how successful is
it. They should calm down and resolve the
issue, times are just hard for them.
