It was always going to be a big ask for Franck Ribery. Coming up against Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi - the two best players of a generation - in the race for the FIFA Ballon d'Or, the Bayern Munich winger was bound to be pushed.
Ribery was at the award ceremony in Zurich and managed to find a silver lining when missing out on the chance to prevent eventual winner Ronaldo scooping his second World Footballer of the Year gong.
The France and Bayern Munich winger posed for a few snaps with Brazilian beauty and Victoria's Secret model Adriana Lima.

Say cheese: Victoria's Secret model Lima and Bayern winger Ribery were in high spirits at the bash
Striking: Lima has been a Victoria's Secret Angel since 2000
Sealed with a kiss: Football-crazy Lima was there to promote next summer's World Cup in Brazil
Lima, who is also an actress, is best known for being a Victoria's Secret Angel since 2000 and is married to a sportsman herself.
Colossal 6ft 7in Serbian basketball player Marko Jaric and Lima have been married since 2009 and have two children together.
The 5ft 10in Lima, 32, towers over the diminutive Ribery, who won the Treble with Jupp Heynckes' Bayern last season.

The star-studded event in Switzerland saw Ronaldo win the crown and prevent Messi picking up his fifth consecutive Ballon d'Or trophy.
Ribery, who at least made it into the Team of the Year midfield, will be turning his attentions to retaining the Bundesliga title with Pep Guardiola's Bayern.
The winter break in Germany comes to an end in 11 days' time, when Bayern travel to Borussia Monchengladbach for their domestic clash.

Not bad: Lionel Messi (back left), Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Cristiano Ronaldo, Ribery, Xavi, (bottom left) Dani Alves, Thiago Silva, Sergio Ramos, Philipp Lahm and Manuel Neuer made up 10 of the World XI. Andres Iniesta was not able to attend the ceremony
Worthy winner: Cristiano Ronaldo was welling up when he collected the main prize over Ribery and Messi
