Kim Kardashian has hit back at haters who have criticised her for donating just 10 per cent of her eBay Giving Works auction profits to victims of the recent typhoon in the Philippines.
After stating that 'proceeds will go directly to the communities they’re serving in the Philippines and will help typhoon survivors get access to medical care and ultimately save lives' on her auction page last week, the 33-year-old was bombarded with comments that she was misleading the public.
Taking to her websiteon Monday to set the record straight, the reality TV star went to great lengths to defend her charitable donation, slamming her detractors for questioning her
I feel compelled to speak about something that is in my head and my heart,' she began her blog post, which was titled, Giving Comes From The Heart. 'Over the years, I’ve had to grow a thick skin. Being in the public eye, there are times I feel like I get criticized for any and everything I do. I’m used to it now. I just choose not to feed into negativity or become consumed by it.
'The problem comes in when I get attacked for giving and trying to help people.'
The star revealed that her late father, Robert Kardashian, 'always taught me the importance of giving back' and it's a lesson she has kept with her all these years, whether the public is aware of her charitable deeds or not.
'I don’t publicize everything I do to help charities and people all over the world,' she insists. 'I do it because I want to. I do because my dad taught me to. I do it because it’s the right thing to do. So for people to attack me for giving 10% of my eBay auction sales to the people of the Philippines, that hurts.
I do eBay auctions monthly and change the charity or church from time to time. I give 10% of all my earnings to charities, not just these eBay auctions. This month it’s for the people of the Philippines, last month was Life Change Community Church.'
With the star said to be worth as much as $40 million, certainly 10 per cent of her auction profits doesn't sounds like a hefty sum, though it's a darn sight more than most will ever donate in their lifetime.
But not only does the mom-of-one donate 10 per cent of her eBay auctions to charity, she also donates 10 per cent of her earnings from every single endorsement deal.
'Nobody has to give anything, and yet Kim gives 10 per cent of everything and now she is being judged for it,' her rep states.

Crisis communications expert Glenn Selig told FOX411 his gripe with the star's actions was that she's drumming up publicity for her auction but not raising the profits going to said charity to a more acceptable percentage.
'When you say something is for the charity, the assumption is much more than 10 per cent goes to charity,' he says. 'And when the charity angle is leveraged to boost bidding or to drum up news coverage, when only 10 per cent goes to charity people likely will be taken. It is wrong to mislead the public.'
The star insists she's not pocketing the remaining 90 per cent of proceeds, with numerous fees going to running the event.
'When the eBay numbers get broken down, the auction management agency that posts for me gets a percentage for all of their hard work, then eBay listing fees, end of auction fees, eBay Store fees, Paypal fees, etc., all add up to about half of the sale. Then I give 10% to a charity,' she writes.
'Truth is how the # is broken down, is neither here nor there. The people of the Philippines need all of our help, no matter how big or small.'
Far from letting the latest criticism get her down, Kim is more determined than ever to continue on her path of goodwill.
'Over the last 5+ years, I have listed thousands of items on eBay Giving Works for various causes.
I will continue to do what is in my heart and am happy to know many others have enjoyed purchasing from me, as they too are giving with me,' Kim adds.

'Giving comes from the heart. We all need to be reminded of this as we celebrate the holiday season this year.'
